This Privacy Policy describes how Llearny collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our language learning application.

2. Information we collect
Account information: your email address and, if you sign in via Google, your name and profile information.
Learning data: lesson progress, completed exercises, dictionary entries you save, study streak, and study sessions.
Technical data: timezone (auto-detected from your browser to define daily streak boundaries), preferred interface language, and basic device/browser metadata.
We do not store passwords — authentication uses magic links and Google OAuth only.
3. How we use your data
To provide the Service: deliver lessons, track progress, save your dictionary, count your streak.
To communicate with you: account-related emails (magic link sign-in, important account notices) and, optionally, product updates if you opt in.
To improve the Service: aggregated, anonymized usage analytics to understand how people learn and where the product can be better.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Authentication
Sign-in uses either a magic link sent to your email, or Google OAuth.
When signing in via Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. We do not get access to other Google services or data.
5. Payment data
Payments for Premium subscriptions are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record.
We do not see or store your full card details. Paddle provides us with transaction metadata (amount, status, subscription state) needed to grant access to Premium features.
Paddle's privacy policy applies to data they collect.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
We use first-party analytics to understand product usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
7. Data retention
Account and learning data is retained as long as your account exists.
If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access your personal data.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your data ('right to be forgotten').
Export your data in a portable format (your dictionary can be exported in .apkg format from the Dictionary page).
Object to or restrict certain processing.

If you are located in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
9. International transfers
We may process data on servers located outside of your country. When we do, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect your personal data.
10. Children's privacy
Llearny is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was last revised.
